Accessories can be functionalistic

Let's talk about functional accessories! Functionalistic is the architecture of or relating to the theory of design that the form of a thing should be determined by its use. It is influential to a space to decide where functional accessories will be placed in a room. Lamps, clocks, and mirrors are 3 of my top functional accessories that I recommend for a space.
Lamps are normally chosen to match a color scheme or design aesthetics of the space. Lamps can add color, texture, symmetry, but most importantly function to a room. A lamp's primary function is to bring light into a space. The size and placement of a lamp is significant to the function and need. A lamp can be placed on an entryway table for extra light or security. The entryway table lamp in my home gives just the right amount of light at night. Larger floor lamps can provide needed overhead lighting or make the perfect functional accessory in a reading nook.

Clocks are another great functional room accessory. They too come in different colors, textures, and design styles. Clocks can be hung on the wall or placed on a nightstand alongside a lamp. It is important that the time is easily visible on the clock if placed in a space as an accessory that is being used.

Lastly mirrors are functional accessories that come in array of shapes and sizes. A mirror's main function is reflection. Mirrors are effective at making small spaces appear enlarged.
Functional accessories pair very well with decorative accessories in a room. Mixing design elements in a space to be functional and fabulous allow you to bring in the perfect personal touch to your space. When you look around your space what functional decor do you need to add or update?  Never a goodbye but always a see you later. Until next time!
