Room Remix

I did a mini makeover in a small hangout room in an apartment. There was an existing futon in the space that was in good condition, and I was given a budget of 100.00 to change the space. It may seem like a small budget, but it is feasible. I love giving a space a facelift! A very inexpensive but impacting change to a room is color. Changing the color on your walls or adding an accent wall in a space can offer a dramatic change with very little cost. There is the option for wallpaper too. Wallpaper adds both color and texture to a room. Although I didn’t paint the walls or add wallpaper, I added color and texture through accessories and furniture pieces that I added to the space. Accessories add depth and layers to a space with wall art, throw pillows, and area rugs. I went to a few home décor stores to grab a few items to go along with the current items that I had shopped for around the house. I stopped by IKEA. Why can I stay in IKEA all day! That’s a whole blog post for another day!
I picked up a LACK side table, throw pillows, and a plant. I used a storage ottoman that I found in the house. The ottoman doubled as a coffee table in the space. I was able to put a few blankets and board games in there for movie and game nights. The transformation to the space was inexpensive and allowed the room to be more functional. A tip to remember always shop around your house for unused furniture or accessories that can be repurposed in another room. Sometimes a remix is just as good as the original if not better! Never a goodbye but always a see you later. Until next time!
